So the holidays are almost upon us and a new year is right around the corner. Time to do a journal update! The team over at Jolly Rogue Studios has been working steady to get Issue 5 of the second volume of Sky Pirates of Valendor out on time. I finished the pencils on it last week (give or take a day). Production on the final issue of this story arc will start up in February so maybe by the beginning of summer, the entire second series will be available.
Meanwhile, I have a little downtime so I am making progress on my own book. I am expanding the western submission I did way back for the now defunct ZUDA website. I have Rod Hannah working on the script, giving it more life and dimension. The original title was Wild West Wizards but we will be changing that. No release date on it yet as we are working on it in our spare time in-between the gigs that actually pay our bills. Still, it is turning out to be a pretty exciting book and I can't wait to finish it.
Despite the artwork on the table, I am always looking for new projects. I am also open for commissions. Anyone interested in hiring me as a sequential artist or doing some private commission pieces can email me at: brian_brinlee@yahoo.com Prices are always reasonable and can be discussed in the email.
Notice: I do not do back-end projects (unless you have just a mind-blowing script that only an idiot would turn down but it better be really good) and I no longer do free "try-out" samples to see what my style would look like with your characters. I am always happy to do samples but there is a rate for that, too. If you are looking for freebies, go somewhere else.
Happy Holidays everyone! See you in 2012 in a few weeks!
-Brian
**************UPDATES (January 2, 2012)********************
Due to circumstances beyond my control (a project was put on hold for who knows how long), I have some blank spots in my schedule. So I am open for commissions!!! I do pin-ups, covers, sequential work, inks, pencils, some color, and can even make a mean ham and cheese omelette with egg whites only. If you are looking to hire an artist, email me and ask me about my rates. They are very reasonable and I am willing to work out arrangements. Email me at: brian_brinlee@yahoo.com
